5 things about Dipak Limbu

Dipak Limbu is a household name in Nepali music industry. The titleholder of the first Nepali Tara has three albums, 'Nepali Tara', 'Shrota' and 'Shrabya', to his credit and has churned out a number of popular songs for the masses to enjoy. Songs like 'Simple Simple', 'Nai Nabhannu La', 'Maile Tei Bhayera Mann Parako', and 'Maile Maya Garna' are still loved by many listeners.

Here, the singer took time to list five things about himself so that his fans get to know him better.

He advocates each person doing his own work

The singer is used to doing his own chores. In fact, he cleans after himself, enjoys cooking, and basically doesn't wait to help around the house. He says, "Aafno kaam aafai garnu parcha. Ever since I can remember, I've been doing my own work and I don't hesitate to help with chores around the house."

He can get a bit moody at times

We all know that sometimes artists can be temperamental. But Limbu doesn't put his moodiness down to his artistic capabilities. It's just the way he is sometimes, he says. He could be in a crowd, having the time of his life, when his mood suddenly swings towards wanting to be alone. And how do his friends react to his moody nature? "I make sure that I'm not deliberately rude to my friends and well-wishers when I'm in one of my moods. I just need to be alone for some time and I'm fine later. So it doesn't affect my relationships in a bad way," he says.

He likes keeping fit

As part of his fitness routine, Limbu likes to run and stick to a balanced and healthy meal. He doesn't go to the gym religiously so running is his surest way of keeping fit. He runs for an hour and more each day, and even when he is abroad on tours, he makes sure to scout good locations for running. He also enjoys playing football and volleyball though he doesn't get time to play these sports as often as he would like to.

He believes in karma

"My career is a reason why I believe in karma," says the hit maker, "I've always followed this saying of Kaam garnu, fallko aas nagarnu. I work because I enjoy it. Not because I expect that it will profit me. I don't have any kind of expectations in mind when I approach my work."

He might do a film if the right offer comes along

As a young student, Limbu did school plays and also participated in dances. He enjoys acting and dancing to this day. "I have got a few offers to act in films," he reveals. He hasn't really thought about acting but should a great script with an interesting role come his way, he might seriously consider it
